About Spoon and Ladle

Our Story

Spoon & Ladle didn’t come from wanting to open another restaurant.

It came from looking at the industry and thinking, this doesn’t make sense.

Too many moving parts. Too many staff. Too much pressure on kitchens just to get through a service. And even then, the food isn’t always consistent.

So we stepped back and stripped it right down.

What actually works?

The answer wasn’t new. It’s how food has always been done properly.

Slow-cooked. Prepared in batches. Built over time, not rushed to order.

From there, Spoon & Ladle became something different. Not just a menu, but a system.

A way of producing food that’s consistent, efficient, and actually scalable without losing quality.

Everything we do centres around bowls. Simple, filling, reliable. Designed for how people eat now, whether that’s in-store, takeaway, or delivery.

This isn’t about trying to be clever.

It’s about doing it properly and building a business around it that holds up.

They’re simple in format, but there’s a lot going on behind them.

We start with slow-cooked ingredients. Proteins that have had time to break down properly, develop flavour, and hold up across every serve. From there, each bowl is built with grains, vegetables, and fresh elements that bring balance to it.

Nothing is rushed. Nothing is overworked.

Some bowls are heavier and built to fill you up. Others are lighter, cleaner, and easier to come back to during the day.

It’s food that’s designed to be reliable. You don’t have to think too hard about it. You just know it’s going to be good, and it’s going to hit the same way every time.

That’s really the point.
